Mi abuelo, Lester G. Maitland, aunque era alemán, se enamoró de mi abuela y de la cultura de México y le encantaba visitar México. Y las mascotas de nuestra familia que amamos mucho Manolo Vergara y Francesca Guzman- Medina.* My grandfather, Lester G. Maitland even though he was german he fell in love with my grandmother and the culture of Mexico and loved visiting Mexico. And our family pets that we loved dearly Manolo Vergara & Francesca Guzman- Medina.

¿Cómo lograr que esta tradición siga de generación en generación? How can this tradition continue from generation to generation?

Ahora como madre le enseño a mi hijo aunque mantengo a mi abuelo siempre en mi corazón para también honrarlo colocando un altar con sus golosinas favoritas. *  Now as a mother I teach my son even though I keep my grandfather always in my heart to also honor him by placing an altar with his favorite goodies.

Mi hermano Jerry Guzman, quien me enseñó la tradición. * My brother Jerry Guzman, who taught me the tradition.

¿Qué sentimientos te provocan poner este altar? What feelings does putting this altar evoke in you?

Siento que me estoy conectando nuevamente con mi abuelo, recordando cómo nos amaba. * Feel I'm connecting again with my grandfather, remembering how he loved us.
