Para nosotros es importante día de los muertos porque podemos honrar a nuestros seres queridos y poder guiarles el camino. * Day of the Dead is important to us because we can honor our loved ones and guide the way.
¿Cuántos años llevan creando altares de muertos? * How many years have you been creating altar for the dead?
Mi tía cada año pone altar en su casa. Pero este año le dije si lo quería hacer en el community center. Para mi, es el primer año haciendo una altar. * Every year my aunt puts up an altar in her house. But this year I asked him if he wanted to do it at the community center. For me, it is the first year making an altar.
¿A quién se está conmemorando en este altar, y por qué? * Who are you commemorating this year, and why?
El altar está conmemorando a mis abuelitos de parte de mi papá/ y mamá. También a mi primo quien falleció hace dos meses porque queremos poder honrar a nuestros seres queridos que ya no están con nosotros. Y porque se que a ellos les hubiera gustado que les pongamos un altar. * The altar is commemorating my grandparents on behalf of my father / mother. Also to my cousin who passed away two months ago because we want to be able to honor our loved ones who are no longer with us. And because I know they would have liked us to put an altar for them.

Sugar skulls, agua, velas, tequila, mole, fruta, chocolate. * Sugar skulls, water, candles, tequila, mole, fruit, chocolate.
¿Cómo lograr que esta tradición siga de generación en generación? * How can this tradition continue from generation to generation?
Poder explicar a nuestras generaciones lo que significa día de los muertos. * To be able to explain to our generations what day of the dead means.
¿Cómo te gustaría que te recordaran a tí? How would you like others to remember you?
Una persona alegre, a quien siempre le gusta ayudar a las personas. * A cheerful person, who always likes to help people.
¿Quién le inculcó la tradición de poner un altar? * Who instilled in you the tradition of setting up an altar?
Mi tía fue la razón porque cada año miraba que ella ponía su altar en su casa. * My aunt was the reason because every year she watched her put her altar in her house.
¿De qué estado de México son tus raíces? * What state of Mexico are your roots from?
Mi familia es de Cuernavaca, Morelos. * My family is from Cuernavaca, Morelos.
¿Qué sentimientos te provocan poner este altar? What feelings does putting this altar evoke in you?
Muchos sentimientos me provoca cuando pusimos el altar todavía llego y me da un poco de sentimiento. Pero me da mucho gusto poder haber tenido esta oportunidad de poner una altar con mi tía y familia quienes también ayudaron. * Many feelings it causes me when we put the altar I still arrive and it gives me a little feeling. But I am very happy to have had this opportunity to put up an altar with my aunt and family who also helped.
