Healthy Food Access

For 15+ years, our Healthy Food Access program has strengthened food security and resilience for vulnerable community. In 2026, we are growing this program with additional resources for food insecurity individuals.  

In addition to monthly food distributions, starting Spring 2026, we will assist food insecure individuals with onsite hot meals, additional access to grocery stables and resource navigation. Please see below for details. 

If you are experiencing food insecurity, we encourage you to participate in our Healthy Food Access program in the following ways:

Food Distributions: Distribution of fresh produce and nonperishable food items

  • General: 1st Thursday of each month, 9-12am or until supplies last, NO ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Older AdultS (60+): 2nd Wednesday of each month, 9-11am, or until supplies last, ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Older AdultS (55+): 3rd Wednesday of the month, 9-11am, NO ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

El Comedor*: Offering nutritious meals primarily to older adults (55+) & youth (18 and under)

  • Older Adults: Every Tuesday, 11:30-1:00pm

  • Youth: Every Tuesday, 3:30-4:00pm

La Despensa*: Food pantry providing common food staples for food insecure individuals

  • All Ages: Every Thursday, 11:30-1:00pm

Resource Navigation: Assisting food insecure individuals navigating assistance programs and benefits

  • All Ages: Fridays 12-3pm, FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS

Pet Pantry: Providing food and pet care essentials

  • 2nd Wednesday of each month, 9-11am, or until supplies last

* Our Healthy Food Access program has limited capacity as space and resources are limited. To participate in El Comedor and/or La Despensa, please call 619 408-2740 to schedule an appointment to submit an application. Application submission does not guarantee program participation.
